You may have heard about a little photo contest that we’re running. It’s very easy to enter. All we ask is that you submit your favorite photo that you’ve edited or processed in PaintShop Pro. Simple!
That’s all it takes for your chance to win some amazing prizes. Thanks to the folks at Wacom, we have a Wacom Intuos5 Medium Pen and Touch Tablet up for grabs, along with an Amazon gift certificate and the PaintShop Pro E-Learning Series.
Are you curious about what happens after you submit your photo? We put together a panel of expert judges who will search through all the photos to find the absolute best. This is your chance to meet them, and find out what makes them qualified to carry such responsibility.
Bruce Dorn is a professional image-maker. He has worked in a variety of areas including: Fashion and advertising photography, television commercial direction for Fortune 500 companies, digital effects design and Hollywood production. If that’s not enough, he is also a Corel Painter Master.
Bruce’s recent acknowledgements include the Kodak Innovators Award and the Gold Medal for Portraiture in the collection Painter: the World’s Finest Painter Art. His work has been included in a San Diego Contemporary Art Museum show entitled The Art of Digital.
Bruce accepts commercial and private commissions from his home base at iDC Photography in Arizona. He joins his wife, fellow Painter Master and contest judge, Maura Dutra to create tutorials, imaging tools and specialty devices for the digital photographer.
“’In the Relentless Pursuit of Beauty’ – Yeah, that about sums up my life story,” his website says. There is no doubt Bruce is perfect for the role of evaluating your photos.
Hollywood, California native, Maura Dutra, is a visual artist who currently lives and works in the high deserts of Arizona.
Maura got the art bug when she was quite young. She was accepted at renowned Saturday Figure Drawing Classes at the Art Center College of Design while still in high school and finished her formal art training by earning a BFA in Illustration and Design.
During Maura’s twenty-year visual effects career in Hollywood, she was honored with multiple industry awards for her art direction, visual effects and graphic design.
She and her husband Bruce Dorn tied for a 1st place Kodak Innovators Award and she was recognized with the Master and Excellence awards in the Still Life category of the collection Painter: the World’s Finest Painter Art.
Maura is also a Corel Painter Master. Bringing her classical art training together with her twenty-year career in Hollywood’s film industry, Maura enjoys exploring new methods of creating visuals that serve to inspire.
“In my 40 years as a visual artist, I have been educated in a varied range of traditional tools as well as new technologies. I feel fortunate to be an image-maker in today’s world. But in the end, tools are just that – they are tools. It is the vision and emotion, which the artistic eye and mind brings to bear, that is truly important. In my mind, making images that inspire is the ultimate goal.”
Here’s hoping your image inspires Maura!
