Your desktop image says a lot about you. Whether you’re a designer, a business owner or work with a computer in some way, you probably spend the majority of your day in front of a computer screen.  Therefore, you put a lot of thought into what’s on it.

Like putting up pictures in your home, you can use your desktop wallpaper to reflect your personality. You can show people your style and interests, or simply become inspired by others’ digital art.

If you’re a graphic designer, your desktop wallpaper is also an opportunity to show your work. Each year, Desktopography accepts desktop images from designers and features them in an exhibition.  The project brings together digital artists from around the globe to produce a series of desktop wallpapers. The images you see in this post are all from the 2012 Desktopography Exhibition.

This is an opportunity for you to not only create a new desktop image, but to show it to the world. If you want to update your desktop image, this could be your inspiration to get started!

Did you create the desktop image you have now? Would you submit it to Desktopography?

Yes I did….and no I wouldn’t. xD My desktop backgrounds weren’t designed as backgrounds, and they aren’t share worthy.
